Frequently asked questions.

  • These are slower-paced, more gentle offerings which can be great for beginners:

    • Yin / Restorative
      - Wednesdays 6:00pm-7:00pm
      - Fridays 4:30pm-5:30pm
      Deep stretching with long holds, great for flexibility & mobility.

    • Candlelight Flow & Restore
      - Tuesdays 7:15pm-8:15pm
      - Thursdays 7:15pm-8:15pm
      Gentle movement and long-held poses for deep relaxation.

    Even as a beginner, you are welcome to try any class on the schedule!

    • Let the instructor know you are new, and they can provide additional guidance as needed.

    • Set up your mat in the middle or back of the room, so you can watch others to follow along.

    • Listen carefully. The instructor will expertly talk through poses but may not demonstrate all of them in class.

    • Breathe, relax, and have fun!

    You can take as many breaks as you need, and rest in child’s pose at any time. It's important to recognize when your body needs needs a break without feeling the need to "keep up" with what others are doing.

  • Yes, you can rent a yoga mat for $1.

    • There is FREE street parking in front of the studio on Manchester Avenue (one hour limit, until 6:00pm).

    • There is a huge FREE parking in the lot behind the building.

    • Bring a yoga mat.
      You can rent a mat for $1 if needed.

    • Bring water if you get thirsty.
      There is a water dispenser to refill your bottle and cups to use if needed.

    • Bring a towel if you sweat a lot.
      You can rent a towel for $2.

    • Wear comfortable, lightweight clothing that allows you to move freely.

    • Practicing barefoot provides the best traction and balance on your mat.

    • Arrive 5 to 10 minutes before class start time, so you can settle in with ease.

    • Only leave class early if you must. It's polite to let the teacher know beforehand if you need to leave early.

    • Please leave shoes at the shoe racks near the entrance. 

    • Silence your phone and place your belongings in the cubbies at the back of the studio. 

    • Refrain from wearing perfume or strong fragrance.

    • Get clearance from your doctor before practicing yoga with an injury.

    • If you choose to practice with an injury, focus on practicing within the limits of your injury. Modify or take breaks if you experience pain.

    • Always let the instructor know if you have any injuries or conditions to be aware of.

  • Absolutely! Yoga is a great way to increase flexibility. You only have to stretch your body to the level that challenges it. With patience and practice, your flexibility will increase.
