Our Philosophy: A Journey to Bliss
This program is designed to help you to discover more acceptance and bliss in all aspects of your life. It is not about how advanced you are in your physical yoga practice.

You will learn how to teach yoga effectively (proper alignment, effective verbal cues, hands-on adjustments, modifications, sequencing, business ethics, and marketing). More importantly, in the process, you will learn so much about yourself!

Whether you plan on teaching yoga or are simply interested in deepening your personal practice, we will provide a well-rounded curriculum that encourages exploration and growth based on these tenets:

  • Commitment:
We believe that progress and big life shifts happen through discipline and sincere dedication to the things that we are passionate about.

  • Self-discovery:
We will study the chakras in depth to learn about trauma and energetic balance to create harmony in our current life by learning from our past.

  • Balanced Lifestyle:
We will provide you with meditation and breathing techniques, as well as an in-depth understanding of the physical asana practice. We will explore self-care, diet, and yogic philosophy in a way that is applicable to modern life.

  • Manifestation:
We wholeheartedly believe in our own personal power and yours. We will help you build a practice of envisioning and creating the life of your dreams!

To Complete Certification:
You will be evaluated on:

  • Teaching Final (lead one-hour class with partner)

  • Written Examination

  • Final Presentation (on topic of your choice)

Lara had always been curious about Yoga and eventually took her first class as part of a meditation course during her undergraduate studies at UC Berkeley. She continued to explore vinyasa classes as a method of connecting with her body and mind for physical fitness and spiritual well-being. With previous experience in athletics and dance, Lara particularly enjoyed the lyrical nature and technical aspects of vinyasa.

Lara loves teaching dynamic vinyasa classes, as well as nurturing restorative classes. She emphasizes presence, mindfulness, and connection to spirit. Lara encourages everyone to seek fulfillment and joy in their yoga practice, as well as in every aspect of their lives.

Grace Lorenzo

Born & raised in Los Angeles, Grace Lorenzo (she/her) is a certified Yoga teacher with 15 years of training & practice. Grace is knowledgeable in many methods with expertise in Trauma-Informed, Yin, Kids, & Meridian Yoga Techniques (MYT).

She found Yoga as a way to exercise, then quickly realized it was more than just movement, it was healing. It became one of her resources to self-regulate as she moved through PTSD resulting from unresolved trauma. She understood that in order for one to heal, one must have self-awareness of the body & mind connection - to understand how our minds process stress & trauma & how it shows up in the body. Recognizing how impactful the practice was for her, Grace felt called to teach & share with others how to take ownership of one’s recovery.

She deepens her knowledge through continued training, connecting a range of restorative modalities to offer the community.

Reviews From Our Teacher Training Graduates:

“The yoga instructor’s certificate training with Lara and Ellina was one of the best choices I made for my health and personal growth. I learned so much in just 10 short weeks, and I feel that the transformation will last me a lifetime. I have developed new lifelong friendships, adopted new mindsets that have changed my worldview, and improved my techniques for my practice.”

~ Deb C.

“I found this journey to be one of the most meaningful experiences of my life. Not only did I learn about Yoga Philosophy, Chakras, and Anatomy, I also learned how to be a better human being. I bonded with amazing people that were like my Family through the months that passed. We laughed, learned and supported one another as the weeks went by. Lara and Ellina were extremely knowledgeable and made learning fun!”

~ Elia H.

“Teacher training has allowed me to grow into a stronger, more evolved version of myself. I learned so much about yoga and myself in the process and can now use this knowledge to enrich the lives of others. Furthermore, I got to meet amazing people and gained another family.”

~ Justin J.

“When I signed up for 200-hour YTT at Yoga Bliss, I didn’t really know what to expect. I was practicing consistently for a little over a year but I wanted to learn more. I wanted to get into some details and enhance my practice. I was intimidated thinking I’d be in a class with some super Yogi’s doing headstands. I remember distinctly when I asked Lara if she thought I could handle it what her response was: “If you’re curious, you’re ready, don’t worry about it, you’ll be fine.” Turns out she was dead accurate. I still had some doubt and throughout the intense training I didn’t think I was fine, but I was wrong, and I wasted time doubting myself!

Lara and Ellina were incredible gurus from the very first moment we all walked in. They led by example and complemented each other perfectly. The materials covered were interesting, the discussions were thought provoking and the overall experience was life changing. Each foundational pose was broken down to the fundamentals. I learned more in the first few hours than I did from practicing on my own in class for a year. I was able to feel and see results immediately in class on my own.

Teacher training at Yoga Bliss changed my life. The training wasn’t just about how to do the poses, or how to use your breath, or even how to teach a class. For me, the training was about how to look at life with a different perspective. The training taught me how to improve physically, emotionally, and spiritually as an individual.”

~ Mike D.

“I would highly recommend Yoga Bliss’ 200-Hour Yoga Teacher Training! I wasn’t sure if I wanted to be a yoga teacher, but I knew my practice had plateaued and I needed to try something new. Before I made a decision, I researched several YTT programs in the area but chose Yoga Bliss because it was a diverse community of amazing people. I’ve practiced at Yoga Bliss since March 2016, and have only had a quality experience! This YTT exceeded my expectations and it gave my practice a newfound confidence. The time we spent together as a class was extremely valuable and fun, there were lots of laughs. I appreciated the focus on both the physical and spiritual elements of yoga. Lara and Ellina were engaged, supportive, and encouraging throughout, even when we were all tired, hungry, sore, or whatever! Most importantly, the program gave me a solid foundation in yoga fundamentals and how those can be integrated into all areas of our lives. Our time together was very special, and if you have the opportunity to participate, you should!”

~ Elba F.

I still think about my YTT experience and classmates all of the time. I am so, SO happy that I completed the training and feel very proud of the accomplishment. Although I’m not currently at my most consistent with practicing, I can still see improvement in myself and feel that I have entered a new paradigm within my yoga practice. I have an even deeper appreciation for yoga teachers; I feel a deeper sense of understanding to their instruction and messages.

I am forever grateful that I made the decision to complete yoga teaching certification at Yoga Bliss. This journey deepened my personal practice, improving both my physical ability and spiritual appreciation of yoga philosophy. I would highly recommend the program to any yogi who wants to challenge themselves to dive deeper in to yoga.”
