“The best things in life are the ones you never saw coming.”

Welcome to August! Somehow we are already in back to school season and summer will soon come to an end. I just booked flights for travel for Thanksgiving. The sun is setting earlier each day. All of it a reminder that time continues to pass.

I recently had a memory pop up on Instagram that reminded me that I moved to LA fifteen years ago. Another reminder of time passing by! Looking back now at that time now, I truly had no idea what my life would look like 15 years later. It helps me to hold my future with the same wonderment of potential and possibility.

There is so much of life that can feel like a cycle, with routine things that we do every day, every weekend, every month, every year. Yet it’s important to remember the unplanned moments that make life fun and interesting. I think back on every year of my adult life, and although I always had responsibilities of work and eventually a business, there were always opportunities to say “yes” to adventure. I’m glad that I made time to travel, learn new things, and spend time with loved ones— I only wish I could have done so even more.

Although in many ways this time of year can feel like it’s time to get things “back on track,” we still have some summertime left and I hope you embrace its spontaneous nature! Come to a beach yoga class. Try a new restaurant. Plan one more little getaway. There’s still time!

This month, we have classes every day and great community events, including a new Somatic Breathwork class on Monday 8/18 with Meghan. We have a wonderful group coming together for our Fall teacher training (starting September 5) and still space left if you’d like to join in! Take care and hope to see you soon at the studio!

With Love & Gratitude,
<3 Lara
