Welcome to June— with our LA mix of both gloom and sun.

I feel like I’ve been giving a lot of podcast recommendations lately, and I have yet another one… Recently I’ve been listening to one called The School of Intention. In one of the episodes, the host discusses the idea of coming back to the things that we know have worked in the past. It can be such a simple way to improve our lives, without the effort of trying to figure out something new.

In my own life, I recall the times where I had great habits that made me feel really good. Somehow over time, I let some of those things slip away... Instead of living with regret or disappointment, we can simply invite these things back in, and bring back the ways we know they contribute to our well-being.

For a while, I was really good about booking self-care services regularly. Every month, I scheduled a massage or acupuncture, or sometimes a facial. It gave me something to look forward to and helped me feel nurtured. I lost this habit through the pandemic when many places were closed. But it’s been 5+ years since then, and I haven’t yet made my way back to taking care of myself how I used to. I’m trying to bring that back, and I’ve started with visiting my acupuncturist this week. I hope to stay on track going forward!

We are almost halfway through the year, so it can be a good time to evaluate. Are there things to add or switch up which will be supportive to living with more balance and joy? It can be as simple as bringing back one thing that you know has worked for you in the past.

We have lots of events for self-care this month and great classes every day. Beach Yoga is starting Wednesday 6/18, and our teacher training is coming up in September! Also excited to have a new teacher on the schedule, Chris Mexas, on Tuesdays 4:30pm— come check out his class! Hope you find more ways to return to you, and hope to see you soon at the studio!
