Sept. 2024

“Routine is necessary for efficiency; breaking routine is necessary for adaptation.”
~ Brett N. Steenbarger

Happy September! Recently a friend was describing how September is like their “New Year”— a time to reset, and create clarity on current state and future focus. For many, It’s a time to get back into routine after the summer season.

I feel this way myself, especially after taking some time off. I’ve made my way back into work, the gym, yoga classes, and life in general. I personally feel great in shifting back into more routine. After a little pause from teaching, I’m feeling grateful and energized after leading classes. At home, we’ve moved to making more meals and eating out less. Little shifts have made me feel more grounded.

We are always allowed to break from routines and responsibilities. We often need to do this, whether it’s to allow ourselves to experience spontaneity and joy, or to take some time to regroup and heal. In every moment, we make the decision to do what serves us. It’s a constant flow of asking ourselves what is needed in our current state, which may be different than what was needed just a minute ago.

This month, we have the last few Beach Yoga classes of the season on Wednesdays 6:00pm with Briana, and some great community events to join in!

I hope you are all surviving this LA heat wave! It will be over before we know it. Hopefully the rest of September will be cooler Hope to see you soon at the studio!

With Love + Gratitude,

<3 Lara
