“In the midst of movement and chaos, keep stillness inside of you.” - Deepak Chopra

Happy January and happy New Year! I hope you’ve been able to ease back into routine after the holiday.

This past weekend, I did a session in a float tank, also known as a sensory deprivation tank. If you haven’t heard of it before, it’s set up like an extra large bathtub in a chamber. The water matches your body temperature and is saturated with Epsom salts so that your entire body floats effortlessly. When the door is closed, it’s completely dark. It’s meant to give you a sense of nothingness and spaciousness and complete ease.

The 90-minute session flew by peacefully and at times I drifted off to sleep. It makes me think of how we actually will go out of our way to find peace and quiet. With yoga and meditation classes, silent retreats, sensory deprivation tanks— there’s a true desire to go inward to reflect and hopefully connect to inner peace.

I do believe that peace comes from within, while also acknowledging that modern life is busy. Work and responsibilities can overwhelm our lives. It’s clear that many people desire more quiet time and space. As we begin a new year, I wish for us all a feeling of ease and flow with all that is coming, including any challenging moments that may lie ahead.

We have some fun workshops coming up and great classes every day. Hope to see you soon at the studio! Grateful to start another year with you at Yoga Bliss.

With Love + Gratitude,

<3 Lara
